Using Agile Methods to Develop New Fundraising Ideas

Had to cancel events? Change your campaigns? Cut back your acquisition budget? Facing a loss of fundraising income?

You’re not alone.

It’s been a scary and worrying time for many fundraisers. It is clear how we’ve done things is going to change.

This course is designed to help you develop fresh ideas and thinking to help you pivot to the post-lockdown world. Not only that, we’ll help you prioritise and make progress on putting the ideas you develop into action.

What do you get on the webinars?

Drawing on principles from agile, lean and design thinking methodologies, this course will help you to be more nimble and adaptable in your fundraising, in this radically changing world.

We will walk you through a step-by-step process to:

  • Uncover insight

  • Explore and generate new ideas

  • Engage supporters and test to discover the ideas with the most potential

You’ll leave having learned new ways of working and put them into practice to get unstuck on a problem you are currently working on.  For example, if you’ve had to postpone a key event, you may leave with a new way to achieve the same outcome with a different activity. Or if you have an income gap you might leave having tested a new online fundraising idea.

In each 90 minute session you’ll:

  • Learn new ways of doing things

  • Have a go at using these

  • Leave ready to apply it to your world

You’ll also receive a workbook which will guide you through the whole process, plus a group of other people whose ideas you’ll gather to help you tackle your challenge.

Webinar one: mindest and model

  • Understand the different methodologies and how they apply to supporter engagement

  • Get to grips with the skills and mindset needed to make this work successful

  • Understand the Supporter Experience Collective model and be ready to use it

Webinar two: Uncover - generate insights and frame a problem

  • Learn how to quickly and effectively gather insights about your supporters

  • Practice framing your problem ready to solve it

Webinar 3: Explore - ideate and prioritise

  • Trial ways to generate ideas from your insights and carry out focussed brainstorming

  • Learn how to narrow down your ideas to take the highest potential ones forward

Webinar 4: Engage - prototype, test and evaluate

  • Learn how to plan and run quick, cheap tests before you commit to an idea

  • Get advice on how to evaluate whether your ideas are working

Optional extra: One-to-One Coaching Call

We’re determined to help you put your learning and ideas into action. That’s why we offer a follow-up coaching session. On the call you’ll get 1:1 support and advice to bring your ideas to fruition.
